Syngenta Corn Lawsuit Update

Last month we addressed the various litigation options available to Indiana corn producers interested in the Syngenta MIR162 litigation. Based on the volume and nature of questions received this month, I wanted to provide additional information regarding attorney fee agreements.

As a brief review, many farmers choosing to participate in the litigation have hired local attorneys and filed state claims in Minnesota. Plaintiff’s counsel strategically chose this forum. These lawsuits will remain in Minnesota state court because it is the principal place of business for Syngenta. Plaintiff’s counsel attorney costs and fees will be determined by a contingency fee arrangement signed by both parties prior the initial filing.
