AdvancED International Summit 2013
AdvancED has announced discussion and panel topics for the International Summit 2013. This year’s Summit, Defining Learner Success in the Digital Age, will be held June 23-25, in Washington, D.C. The three plenary sessions and corresponding dialogue breakouts will investigate:

Defining Learner Success in the Digital Age:  Describe and define the skills, knowledge, attributes and dispositions needed for students to thrive in a digitally-connected global society.

Fostering Learner Success in the Digital Age:  Explore the implementation of competency-based models for learning and badging systems.

Measuring Learner Success in the Digital Age:  Examine whether you have successfully prepared learners in alternative/performance-based assessments and Common Core State Standards.

Each plenary session will be followed by Disruptive Dialogue breakout groups in which participants will have the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts through the use of technology, hands-on activities and group interaction.  Participants will explore the various components integral to understanding and influencing learner success in the digital age.  Click here to register today.

Two Million Surveys Completed with ASSISTTM

More than two million students, parents and teachers have completed AdvancED surveys about the quality of their educational institutions.  This represents a total of 68 million ratings and open-ended responses that AdvancED has collected to questions about the experience stakeholders have had with their school or school system.

The surveys are available to AdvancED accredited institutions for free through ASSIST--AdvancED’s web-based school improvement system.  The surveys were offered as an optional component between March 2012 and December 2012 but are required as part of AdvancED accreditation beginning in January 2013.

Surveys have been administered across the United States and around the world by public and private schools and school systems.  The surveys are offered in either online or paper versions and in multiple languages.  The survey content is customized for students, parents and staff at all grade levels.  Analysis of their data by each institution will yield a rich source of information and insights into the opportunities institutions have to improve and deliver high quality education to meet the needs and expectations of their constituents.  If you haven’t done so, please login to ASSIST today to learn more and begin using the surveys.
