AdvancED/UK Innovation Summit

Registration is open for the AdvancED and University of Kentucky 2011 Innovation Summit.  Elementary, middle, high, and career technical education teachers, principals, district administrators, boards of education members, and college/university faculty and leadership are invited and encouraged to attend the 2011 Innovation Summit, which is co-sponsored by AdvancED Kentucky and the University of Kentucky College of Education.  The Summit is set for December 1-2 at the Lexington Convention Center.

Nearly 60 educator practitioners from across Kentucky have agreed to present and help lead this professional gathering.  The Summit also will include nearly 40 concurrent session on these major topics:

  • AdvancED ASSIST - using state-of-the-art technology to lead and manage school/district improvement and accreditation
  • College and Career Readiness - effective K-12 practices and approaches focused on higher degrees of "preparedness" at all levels
  • Global Education and Collaboration - programs, opportunities, information, and approaches to help Kentucky educators understand and embrace a more global awareness
  • Leadership for Common Core Curriculum Implementation - effective strategies, practices, and assessment techniques from practitioners including Kentucky's Gates/Pritchard Committee literacy and math project
  • Leading Innovation in Assessment Accountability up-to-date information on K-PREP Tests and Kentucky's Learning Accountability leadership strategies for the balanced assessment program
  • Leading Innovation and Change in Kentucky Classrooms - ideas, practices, and support for leading systemic and transformational change; new prototypes for teacher/educator preparation and pre-service programs; applying "systems thinking" to the teaching and learning process beyond problem-solving - creating solutions using "Design Thinking"
  • Next Generation Learning - up-to-date information, ideas, and approaches from practitioners engaged in Next Gen implementation in Kentucky schools and districts
  • School and District Leadership in the Digital Age - virtual, hybrid, on-line learning opportunities, technology leadership skills as well as resources and grant opportunities to help educators thrive in a more technology-driven environment
  • Student Engagement and Student Voice - practices, approaches, strategies, to help educators more authentically engage in their learning including project-based learning, alternatives to "seat time", personalization of schools, systems, and learning

ASSIST Webinar Series

Join us for this exciting webinar series.  This FREE webinar will focus on the “nuts and bolts” of how to use the AdvancED® Adaptive System of School Improvement Support Tools (ASSIST™) for your school improvement and accreditation process.  Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the ASSIST platform, learn how to access the system, and view a demonstration on how to use each of the system components to meet your accreditation and continuous improvement needs.  The series will be held through December 13, 2011.  Click here to register for an ASSIST Webinar today!
