Welcome
During August, the University welcomed the release of the 2016 Academic Rankings of the World Universities (ARWU). Following on from our best ever result of 300 in the Leiden rankings in May, Griffith rose 44 places in the ARWU to be placed 318th, affirming our position among the top three per cent of the world's universities.
In other ranking news, Griffith was ranked by the Times Higher Education as ninth in the world of Rio Olympic gold-medal winning universities, and number 1 in Australia. Our 24-member team left Rio with three gold, four silver and four bronze among them, along with a world record for the women's 4x100 swimming relay.
I look forward to seeing you at our next Friends of the Library events, the Rare and threatened plant walks on our Gold Coast campus and Extracting strategic advantage from public data sources at our South Bank campus.
