World Workplace!!

What is the big deal?  Why should I go?

Going to World Workplace or Facility Fusion provides you with an opportunity to learn best practices from others.  But mostly it gives you an opportunity to talk with professionals that have the same problems or questions.  These conferences are set up with great inspirational keynote speakers, these speakers will encourage you to be innovative and inspire new interested in your daily job.

Most of the conference is dedicated to breakout session presented by some of the best leaders/people within the industry.  These people are there to share their problems and solutions on a range of facilities topics. The best part is you can choose the topics that interest you.  Within these sessions you can talk to people with the same interest. I would encourage you to show up early to the sessions and strike up a conversation.  The people you network with can provide you with great information.

The whole 3 days are packed with great educational sessions and fun opportunities to network with your peers from all over the world. You will not be disappointed if you go.  You will come away more energized about your job and have several ideas that will help improve your processes.

2016 Buck Fisher Scholarship

GTC of IFMA was pleased to present the 2016 Buck Fisher Scholarship to Pauline Karanja, a UNC-Charlotte student obtaining her Masters in Construction and Facility Management with a 4.0 GPA. See the below note from her expressing her gratitude for being the recipient!

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for your generous $7,500 Buck Fisher Scholarship Greater Triangle Chapter and for making this scholarship possible. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of your support.

As I pursue my masters degree in Construction and Facilities Management, my interest in research of Facility Condition Assessments has been piqued. This research forms part of my thesis with an aim of exploring the same at post graduate level. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that goal.

By awarding me the Buck Fisher Scholarship Greater Triangle Chapter, you have lightened my financial load which allows me to focus more of my time learning and carrying out research.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. Your have inspired me to help others and give back to the community. It is my hope that I will also be in a position to help students achieve their goals in the future, just as you have assisted me.

Kind Regards, Pauline Karanja
