For Immediate Release
13 December 2016

13 December
 - The Association of Corporate Travel Executives convened their inaugural educational conference at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel, on 7 December 2016. The half-day event focused on a travel trend overview, travel issues indigenous to Poland, behavioral change through innovative travel policies, and an analysis of travel technology. The event concluded with a panel discussion based on questions submitted by participants.

“This educational conference showed how the ACTE approach to business travel management is embraced by a growing global constituency and preferred by progressive business travel managers. It also established ACTE’s permanent presence in the region. ACTE is not here today and gone for another year,”  said ACTE Executive Director Greeley Koch.

Koch added that a full agenda is in the works for ACTE members in Poland. These include travel management training sessions, round table discussions, and business travel workshops.

The Warsaw event featured four fast-paced presentations. The session titled Is Corporate Travel Different in Poland addressed the effects of consumerism, mobility and technology on the industry landscape. Speakers were Adam Krawczyk, Commercial Director for HRG Polska and Magdalena Czyz, Sales Director for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. The Value of Travel Policy – The Polish Experience looked at the evolution of the travel policy, from a static policing mechanism to a more strategic instrument. The presenter was Maciej Olbert, Travel Manager for Luxoft Poland. The session Technologies To Help explored distribution, payment, and managing growing travel choices. Speakers were Katarzyna Fabianska, Country Manager Poland for Travelport and Dirk Mertens, Director Corporate Development for Travelport.

The “question-driven” panel discussion was conducted by Adam Krawczyk, Commercial Director for HRG Polska and Tim Hyland, CEO of FCM Travel Solutions Poland. Audience participation was enthusiastic.
