President's Message

Looking for the one stop store for all your FM Knowledge?  Well it is here!  IFMA has spent the last several years collecting whitepapers and presentation of wonderful knowledge that they can share with all of their members.

Visit the IFMA Knowledge Library now for great resources.

One of the articles that I have read a few times is from 2012, “How Office Design Affects Employee Morale”.  It is a few years old, but it talked about the history of the office space and how change has always been occurring.   It emphasized how having the right office space can impact the company.

Another one is more related to Operation and Maintenance as it relates to creating a “Smarter Building through Integrating Facility Management”. Take a look at these articles and a lot more at the IFMA Knowledge Library.

Seize the opportunity to educate yourself on today’s trends!

Meet Connie Drake - Your 2016-2017 President!

What about IFMA makes you passionate about the organization?

I am passionate about IFMA in general. I like the diversity and education that each monthly meeting offers.  I have been an IFMA member since 2005, and I still gain knowledge from most meetings.  Attending these meetings really keeps me up with today’s trends and the breath of information an FM needs.

What do you like to do when you are not at work or doing IFMA Stuff?

I like to spend time with my family relaxing.  My son plays travel baseball so many weekends we are at tournaments, but on our weekends off, we are on Falls Lake.  We have a 25 ft. deck boat and can be found in a little bay somewhere fishing or swimming.  Somedays we ski or tube, but mostly just relaxing.

What excites you the most about IFMA’s work in the Triangle?

I think that we have something very special within this Chapter with how open we are with everyone.  We are a very welcoming group of people that are very friendly with one another.  I moved to NC 6 years ago and from the beginning, I have felt connected to all of the members. I have found friends within the Chapter and have seen simple connections with others.  Where else can you go and get multiple hugs from friends during your lunch to brighten your day.
