This year, Celebrating Teaching will feature sessions exploring contemporary pedagogies, active and authentic learning, work integrated learning, educator self-care and Communities of Practice. You'll also have the opportunity to learn more about the new Griffith Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship Scheme and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Griffith Learning and Teaching Academy Communities of Practice Symposium

This symposium will explore the benefits and key success factors for effective CoPs with the aim of growing our institutional understanding of the CoP model and promoting engagement with a sustainable approach to CoPs at Griffith.

The program will include a keynote presentation from Associate Professor Jacquie McDonald, an Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Fellow for the Fellowship "Community, domain, practice: facilitator’s catch-cry for revitalising learning and teaching through communities of practice".

HEA Fellowship and Griffith Learning and Teaching Academy Celebration and Networking Lunch

HEA Fellows and Griffith's Learning and Teaching Academy Fellows are invited to celebrate with their colleagues who have been conferred Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy this year over a networking lunch.

Certificates of recognition will be presented to 2018 HEA Fellows, and Professor Ruth Bridgstock will provide an update on the future of HEA Fellowships at Griffith and the opportunities for GLTA Fellows to engage in mentoring colleagues and assessing fellowship applications.

Recognising Teaching, Leading Learning: The Griffith HEA Fellowship Scheme

HEA Fellowships are globally recognised and portable across universities, and are increasingly considered by universities as part of the appointment and promotion process. They are available to academic and professional staff.

Join us to hear from colleagues who have been awarded fellowships, and find out more about how from 2019, Griffith is embedding fellowship in four of its professional learning programs, including the new Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching.

Innovative Teaching for Active Learning Symposium

This event will explore a variety of emerging and contemporary pedagogies that positively influence student learning and graduate outcomes.

The program will include keynote addresses and workshops by Professor David Boud (Deakin University) and Professor Kevin Bell, (University of Western Sydney), and interactive sharing practice sessions related to active, authentic and/or collaborative learning and teaching approaches.
