Our Membership Committee is looking for volunteers! If you are interested in learning more about engaging with our members and becoming more involved with MPI St. Louis by volunteering, please contact Brittany Nelson, VP of Membership. Below is a list of current opportunities:
New Member Chair
- Contacting all new and transferring members by phone to welcome them to our chapter; ensure they are oriented to the chapter and share information regarding how to sign up when registering for the monthly meetings
- Present for in-person events in order to greet new members or the person who sends a board representative as the greeter
Recruitment & Retention Chair
- Support efforts by the Chapter to make contact with and track all guests and walk-ins at monthly meetings
- Develops and coordinates all membership drive initiatives
- Contacting members for renewals

- Did you know our Vice President of the United States, Kamala (pronounced comma la) D. Harris is ½ Asian and ½ Black as her mother is native to India and her father is Jamaican? Click here to learn more about her ascend as the first woman vice president! (Fun fact: Vice President Harris is also our VP of Media and Communications’ sorority sister😊.)
- Did you know Michelle Li, local Channel 5 news anchor, was recently accused by a viewer of being “too Asian” and it made national headlines? She has since used her platform to educate and dispel stereotypes regarding the Asian culture.

- In this country, Cinco de Mayo is widely looked upon as a “party” day, but did you know May 5 or Cinco de Mayo marks the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862? However, Cinco de Mayo is not the same as Mexico’s Independence Day that takes place on September 16.
