| AdvancED Opens New Headquarters |
AdvancED has opened a new global headquarters to better serve schools, districts, and all of our accredited education providers. The new headquarters, located in Alpharetta, Georgia, is fully staffed and available to meet all of your accreditation and school improvement needs. From Accreditation to Professional Development, dedicated staff members are available to provide one-on-one support and assistance as well as product information. Local support will continue to be available through our office but along with our office, the new headquarters provides a more comprehensive network of support and customer service. AdvancED Standards Under Review |
Just as schools and districts are subject to a rigorous process of review and continuous improvement, so are AdvancED Standards. In order to comply with the AdvancED policy that requires the AdvancED Standards to be reviewed every five years, a Standards Committee began meeting in the fall of 2009 to review the current Standards, which have been in place since 2007. This review allowed the Committee to look at current education quality and research, as well as the knowledge gained from everyday application by schools and districts. As a result of this review, the AdvancED Standards are being updated. The will be organized into five areas: - Purpose and Direction
- Governance and Leadership
- Teaching and Assessing for Learning
- Resources and Support Systems
- Using Results for Continuous Improvement
The new standards are targeted to be ready for schools and district hosting visits in the 2012-13 school year. Prior to that, support materials and training will be developed to guide the implementation and use of the new Standards.
