PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
March seems to be associated with bad things. There’s the Ides of March, March Madness, Leprechaun pranks, the start of Daylight Savings Time (yes, you lose an hour in your day), and two years ago, COVID. But for all the mischievous things that March brings, it’s also a time for new beginnings. We’re beginning to think through the transition to the 2022-2023 fiscal year for the chapter. We’re raising funds to help the Boys and Girls Club through our March Madness Event. Lastly, by registering or sponsoring the annual golf event, we can provide scholarships to students who are studying Facilities Management.
It’s hard to believe that the leadership team will be having a retreat to begin planning for the 2022-2023 fiscal year in two months. Input from you is needed to ensure we continue moving the chapter in the right direction. In the coming weeks, you will receive a survey from the chapter. The feedback you provide on that survey and feedback we’ve received throughout the year are vital to developing our strategy for the 2022-2023 year. In years past, our survey response rate has been about 20%. This year, I’d like to challenge each of you to complete the survey.
I look forward to seeing you at our luncheon and the March Madness event on St. Patrick’s Day this year.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH MARCH MADNESS EVENT
Join us for the annual March Madness Event featuring the Bracket Challenge on Thursday, March 17th from 4pm-7pm at Rally Point Sports Grill!
This event benefits the Boys and Girls Club.
The Cornhole Tournament is back along with the lottery ball drawing for the 64 teams!

GTC OF IFMA FEBRUARY 2022 TOUR AND SOCIAL RECAP
McDonald York enjoyed hosting and sponsoring February’s GTC of IFMA tour at their construction site for a future Ligand Facility. The space is located at 1035 Swabia Court in Durham and is being constructed in a 2nd generation single story multi-tenant building owned and managed by Longfellow Real Estate Partners. The project consists of 27,500 SF of lab and office space.
McDonald York has been proactive in managing the current market conditions and material delays affecting specifically cold room and rooftop mechanical equipment to minimize the impact on the overall schedule. The project is expected to finish in April.

MIKE BRADLEY MEMORIAL IFMA FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION OPENS NEXT WEDNESDAY!
Twosome registration will begin through CVENT at 9:00AM NEXT Wednesday, March 9th, 2022. Members will receive 2 emails at that time-one for twosome registration and one for sponsorships and mulligan presales.
Tournament Date: Wednesday, April 27, 2022
Team Registration at 11:00AM with Lunch Provided Followed by Shotgun Start at 12:00PM
Location: Lochmere Golf Club, 2511 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, NC
1) No company will be allowed to register for more than a foursome.
2) If you are an Annual Sponsor and receive a twosome or foursome, you do not need to register them in CVENT, but please send your player names and handicaps to Todd Taintor.
3) If you are a Professional Member and are looking for a single spot, please email Buck Fisher and he will work on connecting you to a team.
