The countdown is on and we're less than two weeks away from the 2016 HRMA Leadership Conference! If you haven't registered, what are you waiting for? Get on over to the HRMA website and register. Workforce Readiness Event for Veterans & Reservists

HRMA's Workforce Readiness Committee is seeking volunteers to review resumes for veterans! The Committee is hosting a resume review and interview training skills session with veterans and reservists to discuss resume format, content, and interview tips. Volunteers will answer questions and talk about best practices for veterans re-entering the workforce. Interested? Please contact JohnMLenihan@yahoo.com. The event is on November 17th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Center for Workforce Innovation at Florissant Valley Community College, 3344 Pershall Road, Ferguson, MO 63135. Learning the Terminology on Veterans' Resumes

One question is common among HRMA members: how do I better understand the military-specific terminology that we see on resumes submitted by veterans? You can learn the answers about how to recruit and hire veterans from Brandy Scheer (Employer Support for Reserve and the Guard) and Frank Alaniz (Missouri Regional Workforce Liaison for the SLATE Missouri Job Center). On November 9th, Frank and Brandy will host an informational session designed to help employers interested in hiring and retaining more veterans. The event will be held at Enterprise Holdings Headquarters, 600 Corporate Park Dr., St. Louis, MO 63105.
