It's that time of year again! The 2018 Saint Louis Attractions Association Silent Auction is quickly approaching! Invite your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to join the fun. This is the one event of the year that is open to the general public, so please feel free to bring guests, come prepared to shop!

A portion of the proceeds from the auction benefit the Carole Moody Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to a high school senior or undergraduate college student majoring in a field that contributes to the tourism/hospitality industry. Click here for more information and to register.

Don't Forget to Submit Your Nominations for the 2018 Spirit of St. Louis Award!
|
There is only one month left to submit your nominations for the Spirit of St. Louis Awards for 2018! Winners will be announced at the January 2019 meeting. In addition to the award this year's winners will also receive free admission to the SLAA auction the following November. Completed forms must be submitted by Friday, November 16th.
Eligible nominees may have served in any of a variety of positions, ranging from front-line services to management, at an attraction, hotel, restaurant, or with any other associated or affiliated industry. Both members and non-members of SLAA are eligible to receive awards; however, nominations must be submitted by a SLAA member. You are welcome to make unlimited nominations. Thank you to The National Great Rivers Museum in Alton for being such a great host for our September luncheon. We hope everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery during the tour, and was able to learn more about media partnerships. We appreciate the speakers - Stephanie Tate, Mary Hediger, and Heather Woodard - for sharing their knowledge with us and Nancy Milton for moderating the discussion. Also, a big thank you to Just Desserts for the filling and wonderful lunch!

Happy October From the Fundraising Committee!

Tyler, Sara, and I have been working hard with our Programs team for the upcoming Silent Auction on November 14th! We can't believe it's coming up so quickly! In case you missed it, the auction will be held at the Saint Louis Science Center on November 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The room is fantastic, and is large enough for us to bring in some games for our guests to play during the event (as well as bid on the amazing items we're collecting!) We have few surprises as well - make sure to bring cash to the auction so you can participate in all the fun!
All members should have received a letter asking for a donation for the Silent Auction in the past few weeks. We welcome all donations, big and small. We've even had a few members asking if they could team up on donations and build packages to auction off - go right ahead! It's all about raising money for scholarships, the more you give, the more we can give! What a great way to get your company name in front of all our members, too. If you have something to donate for the Silent Auction, please contact Brooke, Tyler, and Sara, or send the item directly to the SLAA office. We're happy to pick up your donations as well.
We'll see you at the auction on November 14th!
