A Message from the Chapter President, Wendy Glick

Dear Fellow Greater Wichita Chapter AFP members, It has been my honor to serve as your president these past two years. Our chapter has had many wonderful successes since 2017, including two very successful National Philanthropy Day celebrations and hosting the regional Mid-America Conference on Fundraising last spring. Several of our members tested and

successfully obtained their CFRE accreditation over the last two years. The monthly professional development sessions have featured local and national speakers and attendance for the sessions has grown. And speaking of growth . . . at AFP ICON in 2019 our chapter was recognized among a select few for having a 35% growth rate in membership for 2018.

All of these wonderful accomplishments were made possible by a dedicated and hard-working board who gave 100% to their volunteer role with our AFP chapter just as they do in their day jobs. To Mike, Rachel, Lynette, Molly, Lisa, Kim, LeAnne, Jessica, Diana, Beth, Amy, Chenay, Tom, Andrea, Amy, Alissa and Bridget, plus those who served on the board in 2018, you have my deepest gratitude. Thank you for being the professionals that you are and for your commitment to our mission to “Build capacity and competency for professionals advancing philanthropy”.

At our annual Christmas Party on December 9th I will pass the baton to your new president, Mike Wescott. I know Mike will do a wonderful job leading our organization into the next decade. With the help of a nominating committee comprised of several seasoned fundraising professionals, Mike has built a strong, competent board of directors for 2020. Though I will no longer serve as your president, I am committed to remaining involved in our chapter and supporting Mike. I look forward to continuing to develop, elevate and serve fundraisers in the Greater Wichita Chapter of AFP.
