One of the country’s fastest-growing cities, Charlotte, North Carolina, has always been focused on the future: Over the years, light rail offerings have been expanded, thousands of hotel rooms have been added in and around Center City, and renovations have been made to Charlotte Douglas International Airport to accommodate the 46 million passengers it serves every year.
Charlotte has championed changes that will better serve incoming meetings and conventions. This summer, the Charlotte Convention Center will undergo a $115 million expansion, adding 50,000 square feet of meeting space (a total of 55 breakout rooms) to the building and a pedestrian walkway to The Westin Charlotte.
The team at Visit Charlotte is looking forward to these upgrades. However, there is awareness that construction can give meeting planners pause. That’s why they are investing in those who book 100 hotel rooms or more during our expansion period. Through our Charlotte 10 program, meeting planners will receive a rebate for every room booked — a thank-you for being patient and flexible during this period of exciting growth.
The city’s compact, walkable convention district has always boasted award-winning restaurants, attractions, museums, and hotels, but investing in the future means investing in a better meeting experience. Make Charlotte work for you at Charlotte10.com.
