Cvent's Reggie Aggarwal Named Washington Business Journal's First "CEO of the Year"

Aggarwal selected among CEOs of the area’s largest and most prominent companies

McLean, Va. – Oct. 11, 2013 – Cvent (NYSE : CVT), a leading cloud-based enterprise event management platform, today announced today that its founder and CEO, Reggie Aggarwal was honored as the first CEO of the Year by the Washington Business Journal. Aggarwal was selected from among the 50 "Most Admired CEOs" list of nominees, which include CEOs from some of the largest and most prominent organizations such as Marriott International, Lockheed Martin, George Washington University, General Dynamics, Inova Health Systems and The Carlyle Group.

"I’m extremely honored and humbled to have been chosen for this prestigious recognition from a group of notable CEOs from such prominent companies," said Aggarwal. "This award is a huge milestone for the entire company, and it really is a testament to all of our employees’ hard work and dedication since the company started 14 years ago. I want to also personally thank the Washington Business Journal for supporting Cvent from our beginning and following our journey from a two-person startup to a publicly traded company."

This is WBJ’s first annual Most Admired CEO program, which honors top chief executive officers in the Greater Washington area for innovation in their field, outstanding financial performance, commitment to quality and diversity in the workplace, and contributions to the local community. The CEO of the Year honoree is a standalone recognition that was deliberated and selected directly by WBJ’s editorial team.

"It was an easy choice for us to select Reggie as our very first CEO of the Year," said WBJ publisher Alex Orfinger. "We’ve covered Cvent since its inception and have witnessed the company’s perseverance, innovation and growth for more than a decade. Cvent’s performance this year, culminating in its highly-successful IPO, has been nothing less than impressive. But, knowing Reggie as we’ve known him over the years, he won’t be resting on his laurels. For him, and for Cvent, the best is yet to come."

WBJ will be presenting Aggarwal with his award at the Most Admired CEOs banquet at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington on December 5. Winners of the ten other categories of "Most Admired CEOs" list as voted on by the newspaper’s readers will also be unveiled.
