DevOps Lab Course Description

This course provides an introduction to DevOps, a movement that stresses communication, collaboration, integration and automation in order to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT operations professionals.

 

The specific goals of DevOps span the entire delivery pipeline. They include improved deployment frequency, which can lead to:

 

  • Faster time to market;
  • Lower failure rate of new releases;
  • Shortened lead time between fixes; and
  • Faster mean time to recovery.

 

This course will provide a detailed and interactive session to focus on the specific areas that professionals find most challenging.

Ross Everett,
CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSMP, CSSLP, SSCP, Authorized (ISC)² Instructor



With over two decades of experience in the IT arena, Ross Everett trains with a wealth of real world skills. Beginning with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and business law, Mr. Everett has approached a career in IT looking at systems and how they work in the language of business, dollars and cents.
Mr. Everett has been an application developer working on such projects such as an ACH system for a major bank to managing over $50M annually in projects for a branch of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield system. Mr. Everett has also grown into a role as experience infrastructure support. As he became a project manager of application development, he saw how these application affected the organizational infrastructure and specifically, how they impacted system security. Recognizing the danger of ignoring these impacts, Mr. Everett’s career took a turn deep into the word of security, from both a software and infrastructure perspective.

Mr. Everett is now a recognized security professional with a long list of clients and organizations that seek his input on current security issues. From lecturing to an auditorium of municipal water executive on how to secure the water infrastructure to leading classroom sessions with students looking to gain the knowledge they need to combat security threats today to being the Director of Training of a national security organization, Mr. Everett is out in front leading organizations to a more secure future.
