2013-2014 No Place for Hate® Excellence Award

2014 Rampart High School (Colorado Springs)

Rampart High School students and staff went beyond its active coalition and engaged teachers and students in K-RAM, a weekly television production that is planned, filmed, and edited by students of the Rampart High School Electronic Media classes.

This new coalition created a video which incorporated real life experiences collected from the student body, reenacted by fellow students, and included research and poetry to portray the small and big injustices that happen in our schools every day. It was used in an all school assembly in which students asked their peers to choose inclusion and respect, and pledge to confront acts of bias and prejudice.

“Rampart students continue to hold each other accountable and continually remind each other that treating one another with care and respect is truly the Rampart Way,” said Assistant Principal Kyle Chamberlain.  “We are so proud of the work of our student production team on this brilliant video, but most importantly, we are proud of them for truly inspiring change.”
