No Place for Hate® Resources

ADL has many resources to assist you and your school as you embark on becoming a No Place for Hate school. Below are links to a wide variety of tools, including information about responding to bullying and name-calling, responding to cyberbullying, definitions of terms related to diversity and bullying, and guidelines for holiday observances that respect the diversity of cultural and religious traditions in schools.  Check here periodically as additional resources may be added at a later date. 

  1. Glossary of Education Terms
  2. Current Events Classroom - The Current Events Classroom is a collection of timely and relevant brief lesson plans that assist K-12 educators in teaching news topics and other issues of the day. Each lesson helps students analyze the topic through an anti-bias, diversity and social justice lens. 
  3. Books Matter - The Best Kid Lit on Bias, Diversity & Social Justice - This recommended collection of books is representative of the excellent anti-bias and multicultural literature available for educators and parents of young children through age twelve. All titles have been reviewed by ADL staff and the list is frequently updated with new and noteworthy books. A variety of reading levels is represented and many of the books lend themselves to being read aloud to children at any age.

FOR FAMILIES - Table Talk: Family Conversations about Current Events - This exciting new resource provides parents and family members with the tools they need to engage their families in conversations about important news stories and other timely discussions about societal and world events. Each guide includes a topic summary, questions to start the conversation and dig deeper, ideas for taking action and additional resources.
  5. FOR EDUCATORS - Rosalind's Classroom Conversations -  Each month Rosalind Wiseman, best selling book author and bullying prevention specialist, will join forces with ADL to provide this timely resource for educators. Rosalind’s Classroom Conversations includes features on bullying, current events and the social and emotional development of children.
