This year, forum attendees will have an opportunity to earn a GSA SmartPay Program Certification (GSPC) - formerly called the Charge Card Manager Certification (CCMC) - by completing the required coursework offered during the forum and by possessing actual "hands-on" experience working with the GSA SmartPay program, account holders, and card managers. Use of this certification program is voluntary and is intended to ensure that charge card personnel have the fundamental training and experience needed to work with a government charge card program.
Those that plan to pursue the GSPC at this year's forum should be sure to indicate their intention by answering YES to the following two questions when prompted at the time of registration:
I intend to pursue the GSA SmartPay Program Certification at the Forum.
I confirm that I have read Smart Bulletin No. 022 and am aware of the requirements and instructions pertaining to acquiring and maintaining this certification.
To obtain the GSPC, all candidates must complete a total of 7 classes (2 GSA SmartPay Qualifying classes and 5 Bank/Brand Qualifying classes).
Download the forum's mobile app when it becomes available about two weeks prior to the event to see whether a course is a GSA SmartPay Qualifying Class or a Bank/Brand Qualifying Class.
A listing of GSA SmartPay Qualifying and Bank/Brand Qualifying Classes is also available here.
Check out the Smart Bulletin and FAQs for more details about this year’s certification requirements.
About three weeks after the 2019 GSA SmartPay Training Forum, GSPC candidates will receive an email from smartpaygspc@gsa.gov with a link to the GSA SmartPay Training site where they will confirm that they have met the training and experience requirements.
The certificate earned at the 2019 forum will be immediately available within the GSA SmartPay Training website after the candidate confirms that the GSPC requirements have been met and will be available to the candidate anytime they access their GSA SmartPay Training account.
If a candidate does not already have a GSA SmartPay Training account, one must be established by visiting the GSA SmartPay Training website and by selecting “Register” at the upper right of the screen.
Please note that if the CCMC was received in 2017 or 2018, re-qualification for the certification is not necessary - it will remain valid until its normal expiration. If the certification was received prior to 2017, re-qualification is necessary - personnel will need to obtain a new certification (not a renewal) at the next GSA SmartPay Training Forum that they attend in-person.
CCMCs for 2017 and 2018 GSA SmartPay Training Forums are available at the GSA SmartPay Training site (after logging in, select "My Account", then select "My Certificates").
