Summary

Announcing the 2019 EPRI Heat Rate Improvement Conference.  The previous conference was held in Atlanta, GA in February 2017. Dress for this meeting is business casual.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day for all conference registrants.  An appropriate number of PDH’s will be offered to attendees meeting conference requirements.

This 2 ½ day event will consist of numerous formal presentations on various technical topics related to plant heat rate improvement.  Time for discussions and Q&A will be provided to maximize the technical exchanges.

A vendor exhibition will be held in an adjoining meeting room, containing vendor display booths.  On Wednesday evening, EPRI will host a reception in the vendor exhibition area permitting the continuation of informal discussions.

Following the mid-day Thursday completion of the Heat Rate Improvement Conference, Thursday afternoon will serve as the heat rate improvement program research advisory meeting.  Recent research results will be reviewed and options for future research activities will be discussed.  Member input and guidance is expected and appreciated.  While there is no fee to participate in this session, it will be open to P194 Funders only.

Expected Goal/Outcome

The purpose of this EPRI-sponsored conference is to review state-of-the-art technology employed to improve plant heat rate, to provide a forum to exchange knowledge and experience to ultimately advance the state-of the art, to identify major plant efficiency problems, discuss potential resolutions to plant performance problems, and to establish a clear understanding of priorities for additional research and development to improve technologies to improve power plant heat rate and performance.

Who Should Attend:  Plant Performance Engineers, utility managers, plant engineers, power plant equipment manufacturers, test engineers, engineering consultants, plant operations personnel, academia and research scientists involved in improving power plant performance and reliability, performance monitoring, testing, and plant operation & maintenance.
