What Are Lightning Talks?

Your slides will be compiled with other speakers’ in the Lightning talk session into a single presentation.  Speakers will go one-after-the-next with no time for questions.

The lightning talk session will immediately proceed a break, and attendees will be encouraged to ask questions during the break. As a Lightning Talk, you also have the option to present a poster to further detail your work.  If presenting an accompanying poster, please  notify Rebecca Bougher at rbougher@crcao.org

I was Invited as a Lightning Talk, Now What?

Make your point, and make it quickly

You may have slides to accompany your talk, however, we strongly recommend that you limit the number to three to five slides (4:3 format, no widescreen slides please).  Think about what you want your audience to discover and get to your point quickly– don’t wait until the end.

Practice, Practice, Practice

You will want to practice your presentation ahead of time to make sure you don’t exceed your five minutes.  The five minute timer will be strictly enforced!
