Platform Presentation Points to Remember

Platform presentations are limited to 15 minutes

We recommend that you limit your presentation to 10-12 minutes to allow the audience time for a couple questions.

Please practice ahead of time to ensure you will stay within your time limit.

What Font Size Should I Use?

  • It's important to remember that this is a big workshop
  • This is what the audience sees when you don’t remember to use big enough font.
  • 18 pt. font is really the smallest you can go without losing readability
  • Bigger is always better
  • And don’t forget—that applies to figures, too.
  • It's better to use more slides and go through them at a faster pace than try to stick to the 1 slide per minute rule.

Graphs and Figures

Please refrain from using multiple figures on one slide unless directly comparing them. No more than 2 figures or graphs per slide is a good rule of thumb.

Consider the font size on your figures and tables when preparing them- it’s hard to follow a presentation when you can’t read the axes or legend.

Are Your Slides Readable?

Try standing 20 feet from your computer screen and reading your slides. This will give you a good idea of what the people in the back of the room will see.

Presentation Approval by Session Chair

We know that each presenter endeavors to include the most up to date information in their slides, and they can’t always be ready weeks before the workshop, but we request that you at least get a draft of your presentation to your session chair by February 10th, 2020.

Please work directly with your session chair for draft presentation reviews.

Bring your FINAL presentation with you on a USB to the workshop.  Please visit with CRC staff no later than the morning of your session to load your presentation onto the conference computer.
