Questions & Answers

Question: What is the dress code?
Answer: Dress for the ACCME 2020 Meeting is business casual. Please keep in mind that even though it will be early May, the weather in Chicago can still be cool and meeting rooms can sometimes get chilly - so we do recommend that you bring layers of clothing to accommodate all temperatures.
Question: What does registration include?
Answer:

Included with your registration for the ACCME 2020 Meeting on Wednesday, May 6 through Friday, May 8 are:

  • Three dynamic keynote sessions
  • Your choice of breakout sessions
  • A Health Professions Open House
  • Breakfast and lunch on all three days
  • Research Exchange and Reception
  • Access to a conference app (see below)
  • All meeting materials
  • Access to Wi-Fi in the meeting space
  • Welcome Reception

The pre-conference session, ACCME Starting Point: An Introduction to Accreditation, taking place on Tuesday, May 5, is available for an additional registration fee. Registration for that session includes lunch before we begin, and all materials during the meeting, which aim to provide those new to CME with an introduction to the ACCME’s foundational requirements.

Question: Can I register for individual meeting days?
Answer:

General registration for the ACCME 2020 Meeting is offered for the three-day meeting as a whole.

A special One-Day Leadership Registration Rate for the first day of the meeting—Setting Your Course—is available only to C-Suite Executives and Academic Deans. There is no one-day registration available for other days of the ACCME 2020 Meeting.

To qualify for the One-Day Leadership Rate, registrants must be an executive officer of an healthcare organization. Executives include line positions such as President, Chairman of the Board, Dean, CEO and other C-Suite positions. For agenda information about the offerings on the first day of the meeting—Setting Your Course —see the full meeting agenda.

Question: Will there be meals provided?
Answer: Yes. Lunch will be provided for registrants of the ACCME’s Starting Point session on Tuesday, May 5 and both breakfast and lunch will be provided each day during the ACCME 2020 Meeting on Wednesday, May 6 through Friday, May 8. Additionally, our Welcome Reception on Wednesday, May 6 and Research Exchange and Reception on Thursday, May 7 will offer hors d'oeuvres while you network with your colleagues.
Question: Are there networking opportunities?
Answer: There will be numerous ways for attendees to engage and collaborate with colleagues, faculty, and ACCME staff at the meeting. Network and learn together in engaging breakout sessions, reflective homerooms, shared meals, and a special reception during the meeting. See the meeting agenda for more information.
Question: What is a “flipped-classroom”?
Answer: To enable a highly-productive meeting, attendees will receive curricular materials prior to the ACCME 2020 Meeting that will help prepare them to be active participants at the meeting. These ‘pre-work’ materials may include short videos, assessment tools, and other educational resources.
Question: Will Wi-Fi be available in the meeting space?
Answer: Yes, Wi-Fi will be available in all of the ACCME meeting space at no additional charge. Wi-Fi is also available in the guest rooms at the Hilton, but attendees are responsible for any additional charges required to access Wi-Fi in their rooms.
Question: Do I need to download the ACCME’s meeting app?
Answer:

Yes. In an effort to responsibly reduce environmental impact, the majority of ACCME 2020 Meeting materials – including your agenda, materials for the breakout sessions, slides, a map of the hotel and resources for the meeting – will be made available electronically through the meeting app. Additionally, the ACCME’s meeting app will provide opportunities to engage during the breakout sessions, network with your colleagues during the meeting, provide your feedback about the sessions, interact via social media, and receive important alerts from the ACCME during the meeting. There will be no charge to download the ACCME 2020 Meeting app.

If you do not have a smart phone or a tablet on which to download a mobile app, you will be able to access the content delivered via the ACCME 2020 Meeting app on a laptop.

Question: When will the app be available?
Answer:

The ACCME 2020 app will be available in Spring of 2020 for download on iOS and Android.
