Beef Cattle Short Course - Tara Felix PSU

The Beef Cattle Short Course is a two-day event that will cover the evaluation of live cattle, concepts for marketing beef cattle, breaking down the carcass, and meat quality. This year will focus heavily on marketing the meat from beef cattle production.

  • Evaluation of Live Cattle 

    Mr. Williamson will walk participants through a class of cattle and outline expectations of that class on the rail.

  • Marketing

    This year's program will emphasize the importance of a good marketing program for various end product options.

  • Meat Quality

    Cattle that were evaluated live on Day One of the event will be evaluated hanging on the rail on Day Two. The yield and quality of each animal and demonstration of breaking down the carcass will be covered.
