Registration Instructions

The registration process consists of two steps.

If you already have a Penn State user account (example:, go directly to Step 2.

Step 1

You must first create a Friends of Penn State (FPS) account. A Friends of Penn State (FPS) is a type of Penn State user account that allows secure interactions between Penn State and users not directly affiliated with the University. Several centralized Penn State services use Web-based applications for their business transactions, and use FPS as the primary method for serving these transactions. With a FPS digital identity, you can gain access to your course materials. The FPS ID is required to complete the registration process for this course. If more than one person from your organization is registering, each is required to obtain their own unique FPS account.

You can obtain an account by visiting the Friends of Penn State website. There you will be asked to enter your name, email address, and contact information as well as create a password that you will need to access this course.

After you have created a password, you will be assigned a userid (digital ID). Be sure to write down the userid and password, or print it out, and keep it in a safe place. You will need the userid and password to access the Penn State Angel System and access the course.

Please now go to the Friends of Penn State website. When you have received your FPS userid and password, return to this page and scroll down to Step 2 to complete the registration process.

Step 2

Now that you have created a Friends of Penn State (FPS) user account, or if you already have a Penn State access account, you can begin the registration process. Click the Register button and complete the registration process.

Important Note!
Immediately after completing your registration, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Please allow up to three (3) business days to be authorized to access the online course. When you are authorized, you will receive a second email informing you that you can now access and begin the course. If more than three (3) business days transpire after completing your registration and you cannot access the course, please call 814-863-7637 for assistance.
