Play Then and Now: A Narrative Study of Early Childhood Teachers’ Play Histories and Practices

Join 2020 Dissertation Awardee Dr. Katelyn Clark as she explores the issues surrounding the importance of developmental play for young children. Knowing that play is a central principle of early childhood education, Clark explores why many teachers struggle to keep play as the central focus in their classrooms, and what motivates teachers to fight for play to be a supported component in school curriculum and environments, and interestingly, how personal childhood experiences of play inform those choices.
