The summit will bring together UK and Polish Government ministers with representatives from the industry to discuss how the industry in Europe should be regulated and the policies that are emerging at both the national and EU Commission level. It will also provide a forum for discussion about how the industry can establish a viable supply chain that is capable of supporting the potential scale of the European shale gas industry. Quotes from the UK and Polish Governments about the summit: “Shale gas has the potential to have a significant impact on Europe’s competitiveness. The regulatory and policy environment in which the industry develops is therefore critical and I welcome this summit as a useful forum in which the key issues can be discussed.”
Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, Energy Minister, UK “At a time when EU policy on shale gas is beginning to take shape, this important summit will provide all those involved in the EU shale gas industry with a timely opportunity to hear how the countries most involved are approaching its regulation and how the EU’s plans may impact the industry.”
Ms Katarzyna Kacperczyk, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland Demand for places at this summit will be high, so early registration is recommended.
