City of Automation – Service Management at CERN, not just for IT anymore

•	In 2010 CERN embarked on a project merging support for IT and non IT services in one service management system. This resulted in 2011 in the introduction of a single service desk, service portal, single processes used by hundreds of supporters and tens of thousands of users.
•	The application of ITIL best practice beyond the traditional IT scope has proven to work.
•	We will look back at 3 full years of practical experience rolling out a single service management system covering such an enormous scope in which IT tickets represent less than half of the total number of tickets processed.
