Dr Femke Hannes (Head of Nutrition Science Advocacy, DSM APAC) will be introducing the Breakfast Session and Assoc/Prof Philippa Middleton will be presenting on DHA and reducing preterm birth.

Associate Professor Philippa Middleton

Associate Professor Philippa Middleton is a Principal Research Fellow with Healthy Mothers, Babies and Children at SAHMRI (South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute). She has a particular interest in perinatal nutrition and the potential of lifestyle and other pregnancy interventions to improve immediate and long-term outcomes for women and babies.

Dr Femke Hannes 

Dr Femke Hannes is a scientist holding a doctoral degree in biomedical sciences focusing on Human health. Clinical research and diagnostics have been an area of focus for her for many years. Currently, Dr Hannes is nutrition, science and advocacy manager at DSM nutritional products for the Asia Pacific region.
In her role, she is responsible for communicating scientific evidence of different health benefits and building a strong network of key influencers in the scientific, medical and clinical research communities. Furthermore, through collaboration with different partners, Dr Hannes seeks to drive innovation through clinical research within DSM nutritional products focusing on Asia Pacific region.
Dr Hannes and has been invited to present at several symposiums all around the world and has co-authored a number of publications.
