Newsletter #1

Dear PLANHEAT community,
As some of you may know, in October 2016 a European team of researchers, international associations, municipalities and industry experts has launched the PLANHEAT project, funded by the European Union's H2020 Programme. Its objective is to support local authorities in decarbonising their heating and cooling systems.
PLANHEAT will realise the full potential of municipalities to reach their climate goals by developing a tool to simulate low-carbon and renewable heating and cooling scenarios.
The PLANHEAT team is very pleased to bring to your attention its first newsletter. We hope that you will enjoy the reading. On this occasion, we would like to cordially invite you to our Eastern European launching event taking place in the framework of the 3rd European Congress of Local Governments on 27-28 March in Krakow!

Would you like to become a PLANHEAT supporter or a supporter city? Stay tuned, we will soon launch the official supporter process!
We also hope that you will stay connected with us to develop the tool together and exc
hange during the project lifetime.

Best regards,
The PLANHEAT Team Members

PLANHEAT Eastern European launching event

Our project will be officially launched in Eastern Europe during the 3rd European Congress of Local Governments, taking place on 27-28 March in Krakow, Poland.

This congress is the ideal occasion to reach out to nearly 2,000 participants from Central and Eastern European local governments and municipalities, business executives aad NGOs and showcase the potential of the PLANHEAT tool.
The PLANHEAT team will welcome you at a dedicated exhibition stand as well as at the panel discussion ‘Empowering public authorities in the development of sustainable plans for low carbon heating and cooling in Europe’ and two workshops.

The first workshop will introduce the PLANHEAT tool, while the second workshop 'Towards 2020 and the revision of SEAP: local level roadmap towards more sustainable heating and cooling plans' aims at enhancing local authorities' awareness on ways to decarbonise the heating and cooling networks.

Support us by filling in a questionnaire on urban heating & cooling plans

The PLANHEAT team is keen to lay the ground to maximise the relevance and impact of the PLANHEAT tool. We would like to screen in depth cities' needs in order to deliver a tool which is really customised. This is why we are now collecting input on how Heating & Cooling plans are used at urban level.

If you are a representative of a city, local authority or an expert in the field, please help us by filling in the questionnaire!
