The Bilateral Chamber is honored to host a delegation led by His Excellency Dr. Khaled Mahdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Planning & Development (SCPD) of the State of Kuwait.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, the SCPD has a mandate to allocate over a $100 billion for transformative infrastructure projects across all sectors. The mandate known as the Kuwait 2035 plan is particularly focused on cultivating and sustaining a viable SME community and has created a $7 billion fund focused exclusively on investing in and supporting new and existing SMEs.

The delegation from the Supreme Council for Planning and Development of the State of Kuwait will visit New York City, Houston, and Los Angeles to meet with innovative SMEs, incubators, angel investment groups, public and private institutions as well as interested companies in the sectors of renewable energy, water, manufacturing, healthcare, and technology.

Executive Management Program for Women in Energy in the GCC

In response to the needs of key stakeholders in the region, we are pleased to announce the Executive Management Program for Women in Energydeveloped and delivered by the Energy Institute at the Price School of Business, University of Oklahoma. 

This university-level executive certification course will be implemented and formally inaugurated at ADIPEC 2016, giving women executives in the GCC access to world-class professional development and energy certification opportunities.
Presented by women energy leaders from industry and academia, the Executive Management Program for Women in Energy will teach, challenge, and inspire.

In addition, this unique program will: 
  • Provide an overview of global economics and energy markets, major players, and megatrends
  • Introduce emerging energy renewables and alternatives
  • Introduce global political institutions/policy on energy issues
  • Explore the impact of disruptive energy technologies on business strategy and politics
  • Identify the hubris/crisis/response cycles in the energy industry and their implications for policy
  • Enhance your communication and leadership skills
  • Create and expand your global energy network

This event included a private discussion and robust exchange of ideas with President Nyusi, who offered candid insights into Mozambique’s growing economy, specific infrastructure needs and best prospects for cooperation with U.S. business interests.

The President was accompanied by The Honorable Carlos dos Santos, Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the U.S. and other notable officials from the Ministries of: Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Industry and Trade, and Land, Environment and Rural Development.
