Dear ExampleContactFirstName

I would like to open this week by congratulating Shardai Eaton on a job well done with regard to our Regional Conference, sponsored by NSW EPA held last week in Queanbeyan. The room was at capacity and buzzing during networking opportunities. Copies of the papers presented are available to members on our website – resources – papers section.

This week we have a great Sydney Branch event - “Managing CLM Project Risks Through a One-Team Vision”. It is aimed at everyone in our industry. It doesn’t matter how good you are at what you do in your area of expertise you should take home something from this event. Note: registrations close midnight tonight – details on our website in ‘Just ’round the corner’.

Recently we received feedback, that in order to better plan for attendance to upcoming events, could ALGA provide more notice. I ask for your patience – we are working on this! We are hoping to be able to have a full calendar year of events programmed in at any given time…

Currently in the wind, we have:

  • 1-day: Asbestos in Soil (Perth, Brisbane and dates yet to be confirmed NZ)
  • 2-day: Risk Assessment 101 (Auckland and Christchurch)
  • 1-day: Groundwater Management for Infrastructure (Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland)
  • 1-day: Geochemistry – Organics (Sydney, Adelaide or Tas and Auckland)
  • 1-day: Geochemistry – Contaminants Fate & Transport (Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland)

We have a short list of potential topics of interest, e.g. ISO 18504 Sustainable Remediation, National Remediation Framework, Reporting to Local Government, Site Measuring Equipment. However, if you have identified a training need, and can contribute to the agenda, and/or delivering presentations, please contact Trevor Smith.

One more thing, it’s that time of year, and most of us are busy preparing our tax returns. This is the time to think of educational and professional expenses, and how membership in a peak industry body can benefit you. Your professional development is a very worthy cause, and I encourage you to think of all the ways you can make use of your ALGA membership to keep abreast of the changes in a rapidly evolving industry like remediation.

As always any suggestions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me directly OR use the "soapbox" button on the website.

Enjoy!

Elisabethe Dank
Chief Executive Officer
