Webinar - Egypt’s Green Energy Plan

Senior officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will discuss Egypt’s new climate mandates, green hydrogen projects and green energy strategy, its hosting of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27), and opportunities for U.S. companies to partner with Egypt to support its green energy projects.
Providing introductory remarks will be Mr. Keith Kirkham, Regional Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Cairo.

Saudi Arabia Roundtable at OTC - Economic Opportunities in The Kingdom

Joining the discussion will be senior officials from the U.S. Consulate in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

USTDA Turkey Space Technologies Reverse Trade Mission

Dates: June 18, 2022 - June 25, 2022
The Bilateral Chamber is pleased to organize and lead this USTDA-sponsored Turkey Space Technologies RTM in the cities of Orlando, FL, Cape Canaveral, FL, and Los Angeles, CA.
Senior officials from Turkey’s Space Agency (TUA), TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute (TÜBİTAK), private sector associations, and others will comprise this exciting and growing sector for the Bilateral Chamber. The RTM will showcase state-of-the-art U.S. satellite and telecommunications technologies, space-focused engineering programs, and policies and regulations that could support the development of Turkey’s space industry.

MENA & Africa Boardroom Sessions Highlights

On the sidelines of CERA Week, the Bilateral Chamber organized and hosted a series of strategic Boardroom Sessions featuring Energy Ministers from across the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa. Each of the robust meetings were insightful and engaging and included informative participation from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) and Citi.

8th Annual Egypt Energy Forum: The Boardroom Session

We held the first of our exciting series of Boardroom Sessions on Tuesday. Hosted by Bilateral Chamber member Apache Corporation and its CEO John Christmann, we were joined by His Excellency Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Arab Republic of Egypt, and Mr. Osama Mobarez, Secretary-General, East Mediterranean Gas Forum.
Ms. Aida Araissi moderated the dialogue with H.E. El Molla and Mr. Mobarez who discussed innovative partnership and clean energy investment opportunities in Egypt. They highlighted the role of Egypt and the East Mediterranean Gas Forum in the global energy transition, and the future of Egypt’s energy industry. The roundtable discussion featured executives from Chevron, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, Citi Group, WTW, and many more guests, each of which had an opportunity to offer their perspective and their ideas to the topics.

Africa Series Joint Session: Equatorial Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire

On Wednesday, our Boardroom Session focused on the Sub-Saharan West Africa energy industry. Hosted by Bilateral Chamber member Amegy Bank and its CEO Steve Stephens, we were joined by His Excellency Gabriel M. Obiang Lima, Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and His Excellency Thomas Camara, Minister of Mines, Petroleum & Energy, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for a highly engaging discussion.
Moderated by Dr. Adel Chaouch, the Ministers shared their outlook for partnership and investment opportunities in their respective countries. They highlighted foreign investment law reformation, new energy sector projects and their vision of the global energy transition as it relates to Africa. Minister Gabriel outlined a comprehensive vision for the future of West Africa emerging as a gas export hub. Guests and members of the Bilateral Chamber’s Africa Insights Committee, ShaMaran Petroleum, Kosmos Energy, Marathon Oil, MODEC, Chevron, and Houston Airport System, underscored their commitment and support for Equatorial Guinea’s and Cote d’Ivoire’s energy sector projects and sustainable economic development goals.

Leadership Insight Series: Iraq Boardroom Session

For our final Boardroom Session on Thursday, we were joined by Khudairi Group, and other key stakeholders to host His Excellency Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, Minister of Oil, Republic of Iraq, and His Excellency Fareed Yasseen, Iraq Ambassador to the U.S.
The Minister highlighted the progress his administration has made with U.S. companies. He offered specific advice, encouraged patience and asked for more CSR investment in the country. The ambassador encouraged progressing the Houston-Basra Sister City Association, and supporting the opening of the Iraq Consulate in Houston. The event was informative and engaging for all in attendance.
