Annual Capital Region Business Forum on 9/6 - EARLY BIRD PRICING ENDS TODAY

Aronson LLC Publishes DSS RMF Whitepaper
As cyber threats continue to increase in scale and impact across organizations of all sizes, cybersecurity must be considered as a key component of both information security and risk management programs. The Defense Security Service (DSS) now requires all cleared contractors processing classified information to transition to the new Risk Management Framework (RMF), leaving contractors with the task of ensuring their information systems comply with the new framework. Four New Leaders Join PenFed Foundation’s Board of Directors
The PenFed Foundation recently announced at its Annual Meeting the appointment of four distinguished leaders to new seats on its Board of Directors. The Foundation welcomes Jim Dinegar, former president and CEO of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, Terry Finely, president and CEO of West Point Thoroughbreds, Deborah James, for Secretary of the Air Force, and Alfred Rudolph, director for the Secretary of the Navy. Since it was created in 2001, the PenFed Foundation has provided more than $30 million in financial support to veterans, active duty service members, families and caregivers. Leading Corporate Lawyer Robert B. Webb III Joins Miles & Stockbridge in Northern Virginia
Miles & Stockbridge continues its strategic expansion in the Washington Metropolitan Area with the addition of senior corporate lawyer Robert B. Webb III to the firm’s Tysons Corner, Virginia, office. Webb, who joins as a principal, devotes much of his corporate law practice to information technology and government contracting related businesses. He also has substantial experience in transactional and finance work for professional and technical services, real estate and healthcare clients. He was most recently a partner at Squire Patton Boggs in Northern Virginia for the past 17 years, and prior to that was a partner with Reed Smith Hazel & Thomas, Hazel & Thomas, and Hazel Beckhorn & Hanes since entering practice in 1981. The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s Innovation Breakfast Series
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia hosts The Innovation Breakfast Series to bring a fresh perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our region and the role that innovation and philanthropy can play in addressing them. ADA and Business Boot Camp Coming to Tysons Corner! 
The Mid-Atlantic ADA Center is offering a unique opportunity for business owners and managers to learn the basics of welcoming customers with disabilities and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA). ADA and Business Boot Camp will be held from 1:30 – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2018 at the Tysons Sheraton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Alzheimer’s Association Thirsty Thursday

Chief Learning Officer Program Starts Aug. 23 at George Mason University’s Arlington Campus
George Mason University’s Chief Learning Officer program is designed by Mason's Executive and Professional Education team to build upon the strategic capabilities of participants. The program starts Thursday, August 23 at the Arlington Campus. Applications are now being accepted for this unique hybrid executive development program which combines classroom and online learning modules. The program also offers specialized courses for commercial and federal sectors. The role of a Chief Learning Officer (CLO) continues to gain importance as organization leaders recognize the increasing need for a strategic approach to generating effective, mission-driven performance.
