2021 Year in Review Header

Aidas headshot
Greetings Friends and Colleagues,

A note of deep gratitude to you for your continued support and participation in our organization.

While this past year, the COVID-19 pandemic continued to have a disruptive impact on business as usual for all of us, the Bilateral Chamber took it as a watershed moment, a turning point that

changed the direction and means for presenting new prospects across broader global regions and economic sectors.

We launched our webinar series, The Global Rebound 2021, with a belief in brighter days ahead for our members and stakeholders. The programs included timely information, tools, and discussions on opportunities across regions including MENA, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Indo-Pacific, and Latin America, and multiple economic sectors such as Energy, Aviation and Aerospace, Space Technology, Healthcare, Information and Communications Technology, and Digitalization Technology.

The feedback and participation in these programs have energized and inspired us. Thanks to you, our outlook is broader, our resilience made stronger, and our vision is ever-growing.

Respectfully,

Aida Araissi signature-01

We started the year with a look at the vaccines that were quickly becoming available worldwide. We invited Dr. Peter Hotez, internationally recognized and renowned physician-scientists, for a frank, informative conversation about the vaccines development, efficacy, and impact they had on the world.

With the optimism the vaccines gave and the world re-opening, we also spoke with leaders in the travel industry to learn how air travel was working toward pre-pandemic status, and the safety procedures the industry put in place with the vaccines in play.

 Information and Communications
Digitalization Technology

COVID-19 sparked a digital revolution of sorts, and accelerated the transformation of communications. Technologies that had been under the radar emerged as necessary means of communication, and countries around the world were prompted to ramp up implementation of nation-wide access.

Bilateral Chamber took the opportunity to partner with TiEcon 2021 and USTDA and work with some of the largest, global ICT companies, to help bridge information and communications technology gaps worldwide. This allowed us to present opportunities to our members in an industry that significantly widened its global footprint over the last year.

Looking To The Future

The innovation, proliferation and scaling of commercial space launch companies has led to a democratization of space exploration. Morgan Stanley predicts the Space Economy will be worth $1.7T by 2040.

Bilateral Chamber is actively looking to the future to bring our members and stakeholders closer to these new economic opportunities, as we continue to explore sustainability and inclusivity across numerous industries.
