President's Message

We are off to a great start in 2016! As I told my friend Jeff Tyburski a couple of years ago, the success (or sauce) of GTC of IFMA is wonderful, and we don’t want to mess with that in any way! However, we continue to probe and discover ways to freshen things up continually without affecting the end product of our dynamic Chapter. We have a new venue for our lunch meetings at Brier Creek and have already received quite a bit of feedback that this was a good move. Over the past 2 years, we hired part time help to assist with administration and bookkeeping to reduce the time burden on our valuable leaders and volunteers. As our Professional Member event was a success last year, we hope to do that again on April 7th with an informational and lively discussion on a core competency related to Facility Management. We are looking at some fresh ideas for community involvement, socials, and networking.

Should you have any suggestions or ideas, please reach out to me or anyone in leadership.

Randy Rabon, President 2015-2016

February Luncheon
Please join us on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Brier Creek Country Club at 11:30AM for the Ultimate Conversion - Implementing a New CAFM System for a University.

North Carolina State University (NCSU) has just completed a rollout of FM:Interact for tracking space across the whole campus. This implementation integrated space tracking requirements for the Office of University Architect, Office of Contracts and Grants, and Office of Cost Analysis. During the webinar, team members from NCSU and Little & Associates, will talk about talk about the process that made the implementation a success and discuss examples of some key requirements of the system. You will learn how they achieved success, what challenges they faced along the way, and what the future holds.
