PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
It’s been a long two years since March 2020, when the first Covid cases were reported in the Triangle. As mask mandates have lifted across the Triangle, I hope that we’ve turned the corner. Since March 2020, our membership base shrunk from 249 to a low of 199 in February 2021. As of the end of March, our membership has reached 228. We’re picking up speed and were able to bring back pre-COVID events such as the March Madness event.
To the members who stayed with us throughout the pandemic, we appreciate your commitment to the chapter. Your contributions to help keep the chapter going have not gone unnoticed. You’ve put your time, resources, and energy into committees and events.
To the members who have joined us since the pandemic, we appreciate your willingness to take a chance on IFMA and the chapter. We hope that you have seen value in your membership. If you haven’t had a chance to maximize your membership, we encourage you to consider joining a committee. Learn more about our committees here.
Now is the time of the year where we ask our members for their feedback. We hope that you will take some time to complete the Membership Survey. Your responses will help us better understand your needs and help us plan and craft content and events that enhance the value of your membership.

IFMA CFM EXAM PREP WORKSHOP
Date: Monday, May 2, 2022 from 9:00AM-4:00PM with Instructor John Rimer, CFM
Location: YMCA Corporate Offices, 801 Corporate Center Drive, Cary, NC
Registration Types:
- CFM Prep Course (Member) - $185
- CFM Prep Course (Non-Member) - $225
- CFM Prep Course with Practice Exam (Member) - $275 – Includes CFM practice exam through IFMA valued at $150
*Anyone in IFMA is considered a member; not just those in the Greater Triangle Chapter.
*Please review eligibility criteria before signing up for this course.
*Please note the application to sit for the CFM exam for members is $550. It is $815 for non-members.
Description: In one day, you will review the overall methodology of the exam and practice applying critical thinking skills to your FM knowledge, using sample questions in a simulated competency-based exam. Though not required to take the CFM Exam, this workshop is an excellent prep tool. When you’re ready to take the exam, submit your application and fee to IFMA.
CFM – Credential, Exam, and Eligibility Information: Validate your expertise with the Certified Facility Manager® (CFM® ), which sets the industry standard for ensuring facilities management knowledge and measuring the competency of practicing FMs. Earning this internationally recognized credential is the hallmark of a committed facility professional who has demonstrated mastery by successfully completing a comprehensive assessment of the FM body of knowledge. CFM applicants take a competency-based exam that is proctored in-person or virtually. The exam has 180 multiple choice questions that emphasize the application of the concepts and principles of the FM body of knowledge, which is comprised of 11 core competencies of FM. You’ll have 4 hours to complete the exam, which is graded as pass or fail.

IFMA CAROLINAS SUMMIT & GALA
Join us at the Grandover, June 16-17, 2022!
Come and join your fellow FM's and Service Providers for a day and night of education and celebration at our third annual IFMA Carolina's Summit and Gala.

This event kicks off with the Educational Summit, followed by a cocktail reception and awards dinner where we will celebrate the leaders in the FM industry in the Carolinas. Awards will be presented in the following four categories: FM of the Year, Associate of the Year, Young Member of the Year and Innovation of the Year. Click here to nominate your colleagues.
To honor the FM's that have led our industry through this bustling economy, any Facility Manager can attend this event for $40, regardless of whether they are an active chapter member or not. Service Providers who are active members of one of the five (5) Carolina chapters (Greenville SC, Upstate SC, Charlotte, Triad, Triangle) may purchase tickets for $175 each which provides full access to the educational sessions, cocktail reception and awards dinner and numerous opportunities for networking. Service Providers may also purchase tickets for additional members of their company who are not active members. Service Providers who do not have an active Chapter membership may not attend.

SFP VIRTUAL CERTIFICATION CLASSES
Our neighbors to the north, the IFMA Richmond Chapter, are planning a joint SFP program with several other chapters.
If you’ve been thinking about how you can help your organization achieve its corporate ESG goals, this is a great opportunity to take that next step and earn your SFP. UPDATE YOUR IFMA NATIONAL PROFILE
As a reminder, please make sure that your IFMA National profile information is current and up to date. This will ensure you are receiving the most recent chapter updates. Please see below for assistance if needed.
Step 1. Visit the IFMA Website.
Step 2. Go to the -MyIFMA | Log In links located on the upper right hand side of the page (This has been highlighted in yellow for visibility). You may need to Log In first.
Step 3. When you click the MyIFMA or Log In, you will be taken to your homepage, my.ifma.org.
Then select Edit Profile on the dashboard. 
Step 4. When the Edit Profile page opens, enter in any updated contact information at this point. Once completed, again click the blue box – Update to save your profile information.
