HFMA Michigan Great Lakes Chapter Update – October 2025 Chapter President’s Message Courtney Guernsey, President, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter of HFMA As we move into October, our chapter continues to bring exciting opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and connection. I’m thrilled to highlight our recent event, “Creating a Culture for Success” with Brian Garver, which launched our new HFMA Leaders in Action Series. Brian’s session reminded us that culture isn’t something that happens by chance—it’s something we intentionally create. Through his dynamic presentation, attendees learned how to build a culture for success rather than by default, design a workplace around four core principles of empowerment and impact, harness culture as a strategic competitive advantage, and achieve true team buy-in that leads to superior financial results, exceptional employee satisfaction, and a better patient experience. We’re so grateful to all who joined us and helped make this kickoff event such a success. This new series is just one of the many ways our chapter continues to invest in developing strong leaders across our region. This weekend, I’ll be joining my fellow Region 6 leaders in Ohio as we gather to collaborate and plan for 2026. These regional discussions help ensure our chapter remains aligned with national priorities while staying responsive to the unique needs of our members here in Michigan. I’m always inspired by the energy and ideas that come out of these sessions—and I can’t wait to bring fresh insights back to our local chapter. We also recently distributed a member survey to gauge interest in a potential networking event at Top Golf. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will help us plan experiences that are both engaging and meaningful.
