November 2020 WMCA E-Newsletter

Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association Monthly Newsletter

President's

Message

thanks

Greetings!

I know many of you are winding down and getting ready to enjoy some well-deserved time off of work.  Some of you are still counting ballots or performing audits, but I’m hopeful soon you can put that behind you and find some time for peace.  But until then, we are still with you.

Thanksgiving is often a reminder to pause and think about all that is right.  Sure, 2020 has given us more than plenty of reasons to be more exhausted than usual, but I’m going to challenge all of you to focus on what’s right, at least for a day.  What are we thankful for?  I looked up the official definition of “thankful” and I found:

ADJECTIVE
thankful (adjective)

1.  pleased and relieved.

Synonyms include:  Relieved, pleased, glad, grateful; expressing gratitude and relief

I immediately thought of all of you for obvious reasons, right?  You probably read that and thought – I am so grateful and relieved the 2020 election cycle is just about wrapped up.  I know I feel relief.  But I’m also grateful for this wonderful group of Super Clerks who worked so hard, probably harder than usual and worked together by helping each other in so many different ways.  I’m thankful for WMCA giving us a place to come together for support and resources.

Maybe this year you won’t be able to get together like you normally would.  I sincerely wish times were different because we could all probably use some time, laughter and cheer with our friends and family.  I know my Thanksgiving will look different, but I’m going to celebrate “thankfulness” just as I normally would and I hope you get a chance to do the same – however you choose to celebrate.

Warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving,

Wendy Helgeson WCMC
2020-2021 WMCA President

So thankful

As President Helgeson stated in her message above, at this time of year, as we try to find things to be grateful for in this Coronavirus 2020, let us not forget our Associate members.  Our Associate members have really stepped up this year, even though we could not help them showcase their wares at our annual conference.

If you have been too busy to check out our website before now, please do take the time to check out the Municipal Vendor page and the 2020 Vendor Demonstration page.  Also, check out the ads that will be showcased in our E-Newsletter in the next year. Many of our vendors have given us some great donations this year which have helped us get through this year financially.

WMCA thanks our Associates and wish them wonderful holidays and a great 2021!
