Government Relations Update
On May 10, 2018, the Universal Charitable Deduction Bill was introduced in Congress. The Charitable Giving Tax Deduction Act would allow all taxpayers to take a charitable deduction, even if they didn’t itemize their taxes. See the below article which was included in the May 16, 2018 AFP eWire. The AFP U.S. Government Relations Committee will be reviewing the legislation and determining how AFP will support the bill and move it forward through Congress before the federal elections in November later this year.
