PTD and TOMS Seminar
Wednesday, 18 May 2016
15h30 - 17h30

ETOA is holding a seminar on changes to both the Tour Operators Margin Scheme (TOMS) and the Package Travel Directive (PTD) at 3.30pm on the 18th of May at the K&L Gates offices, One New Change, London, EC4M 9AF (Nearest Underground: St Pauls). TOMS is about to be the subject of a wide-ranging review while the new rules on package travel will have to be implemented by the 1st of July 2018. Both will have major implications for the selling of packages; new PTD will affect supplier contracting due to new consumer cancellation rights. Our tax and legal experts from Elman Wall Bennett and K&L Gates will examine what this may mean for ETOA members.

Registration is free for ETOA members

City Tourism and Florence Survey

ETOA has been conducting a residents survey in Florence during April and early May in conjunction with Fondazione Romualdo Del BiancoLife Beyond Tourism and the Centro Studi Turistici di Firenze through the local newspaper La Nazione. This project follows up on previous surveys looking at operators’ and visitors’ experiences of Italy and is designed to look deeper into the relationship between the city and its visitor economy. In many of Europe’s destinations this is an important discussion as the benefits that tourism brings in terms of investment and jobs needs to be balanced with good capacity management and infrastructure. Results will be made public at a special press conference in Florence on the 1st June.
