February 22nd  Mark Your Calendar!
Join the AFP Wichita Chapter for the February Luncheon, "Wealth Screening Tools and How to Use What You Learn from Them" from Shannon Koehn, Director of Prospect Research, Wichita State University Foundation.

Giving is a competitive environment. People have limited resources and the local community has a lot of philanthropic options available from which to choose. Those attending this luncheon can expect to learn what wealth screening tools are available. Most importantly, though, what do you do when you get the results back? Now that you have all of these wonderful data points, what do these mean? What does a shop do when there is no budget for a wealth screening?

Message from the Chapter President

Greetings! I am pleased to welcome you to the first newsletter of 2018 for the Greater Wichita Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I am Wendy Glick, Executive Director of Catholic Charities and the president of our local chapter of AFP for the next two years.

Back in 2015, when then president, Molly Fox, asked me to serve as the president-elect for two years and then president beginning in 2018, I at first hesitated. I knew my role at Catholic Charities was about to change and I had no idea what my workload might be once 2018 rolled around. But then the gospel message from Luke came to mind, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48).

Over the years, I have received so much from my membership in AFP. I have attended webinars and live presentations from experts in the field, expanding my knowledge in ways I never expected. I have met wonderful people, passionate about being the best they can be at their profession and equally as passionate about the organization they work for and the people they serve. Though I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, I knew that I had to say “yes” to Molly’s invitation.

And, so now the work begins. Guided by our strategic plan and our mission values to “Develop” “Elevate” and “Serve”, the Board of Directorship for the Greater Wichita Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will work collaboratively to provide you with the best membership experiences possible. Learn about upcoming events through our newsletters and soon, on our newly developed website. 2018 is going to be a great year for AFP members!
