Dear Members and Friends
With
this 520th issue of
MemberCONNECT, our weekly
e-newsletter celebrates an
unbroken run of 10 years!
When the idea of a weekly
e-newsletter was first proposed,
we had a number of goals. The
first was to increase engagement
with you, our members whom we
serve. The second goal we had
was to enable you to stay up to
date with Chamber activities and
events all of which are planned
for you. Hence the
e-newsletter’s name:
MemberCONNECT.
There
were some concerns expressed 10
years ago we might not be able
to find sufficiently suitable
material for a weekly
e-newsletter. But we did and we
continue to. We have done this
by focussing on positive,
constructive messaging and by
leveraging and celebrating
Chamber members’ and partners’
thought leadership and insights.
Many people have contributed to
our positive voice designed to
educate, inform, inspire action
and to uplift. To all of you, my
team and I send our appreciation
and our thanks.
We know
many of you enjoy this
e-newsletter because you have
taken the trouble time and again
to tell us. Thank you for your
support. It means a lot to hear
from the people whom we serve.
SICC remains committed to
continue to deliver quality
content commensurate with our
positive, constructive voice.
In a particularly neat piece
of symmetry, this issue is the
last I will write as Chief
Executive. As you already know,
my tenure ends on 31 August. I
would like to take this
opportunity to thank my
exceptional colleagues Sharon
and Kelly who plan the weekly
topics we focus on and write
about.
