Award-winning hostel brand Generator opens in Stockholm!

ETOA Webinar: Going Digital in Challenging Markets

Our world is becoming ever-more global, and we continue to see demand for travel products from emerging markets. The digital potential in this area is huge. More and more of us would like to do business in new origin markets, but in some of them, regulation, cultural and language aspects can make for a challenging environment for the initiated.

How can you make headway in challenging markets where familiar norms do not apply? In this webinar we will focus on the do’s and don’ts of going digital in Russia and China. Conventional Google optimisation will not work in these markets, so what should you do instead? What are the key aspects of regulation and blocking to be aware of? How does website load time impact business in new markets?

ETOA member CDNetworks will lead the session on the 12th July (11:00 BST) and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions both during and after the event.

6th Annual European Tourism Summit in the Alps - Registration now open

The annual European Tourism Summit in the Alps on the
11th October in Lucerne, Switzerland will have a particular focus on cross-border travel and marketing. In 2016, Europe as a destination has been put under the stress of migration, the upcoming UK referendum and border security. At a regional, national and international level there is a need for joined-up thinking, particularly with a view to long-haul markets where other options around the world are very attractive and competitive. There will be analysis of the overall state of play as well as a look at sectors such as river cruising that depend on cross-border cooperation. The summit is free for ETOA members to attend and is kindly supported by Lucerne and Switzerland Tourism, Swiss Travel System, the Swiss Transport Museum and local hotel partners.
