President's Letter

Hello All!

The weather has cleared up and hope those of you affected by the flood are on the road to recovery!  We have a great program lined up for December … Our postponed October Meeting is combined with TWO AWESOME SPEAKERS who used to be on ISACA’s International Board – All for the same low price as the October Meeting!  We hope to see you all there!

On another note, many of you have noticed that our status with ISACA International is “not in compliance.”  We wanted to take a moment to explain to you why that is.  Every year, we are required by ISACA to complete a set number of tasks.  One of those tasks is to have an independent audit of our financials.  This year was a challenge because in some months of 2014, during a transition time, we had not tracked and reconciled each class to receipts and expenses.   The individuals donating their time to perform the audit could not trace the correct funds to the correct class – resulting in a less than satisfactory audit letter.  We are correcting this process and will resubmit an audit letter by the end of the year to ISACA International.

Thank you again for recognizing the benefits of membership!  We work hard to add value!

Kathleen Hall,
2015 – 2016 SC Midlands President

Tips for Registering for our Events

To register for one of our events simply respond to the invite you receive by email.  The invitation has several links where you can find more information.  I generally advise looking at the Event Summary.  On that page across the top will be additional tabs that will allow you to see the Fees, the Agenda for the class, Speaker content, Class Attendees.

To register, simply click on the Register button at the top right or the bottom right and fill in your information.  If you are one of our members, remember to use only your Email address that you have on record with ISACA International in your profile.  If you do not remember what that is, please go to http://www.isaca.org , log in and go to your profile.  We update our records two times a month to capture your most recent changes.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Event Planner.

After you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email and if you need to make changes, go back to the Event website and use your confirmation number to register additional people or to make a credit card payment or pay by eCheck.  You may also now print an invoice that you can send to your Accounts Payable Department for reimbursement at those organizations who fund training.

If you are receiving too many emails from us, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you in cleaning out the email addresses you no longer wish to use.  We have noticed that many people have several email addresses on record.

If we can be of any assistance - do not hesitate to contact us! We are happy to help.

After attendance at one of our events, you will receive a request to complete a follow-up survey.  Please fill out the survey - it takes just a few minutes and does provide us guidance on customer service and your training needs.  Within a day, you should receive another email to print out your CPE Certificate from class.

Coming soon - the ability to pay using your check online.  Stay tuned.
