Valley Ventures alumni, Upcycle & Co. launches fertilizer at Target |
Valley Ventures Cohort III graduate, Upcycle and Company, recently announced the distribution of their Native Soil Fertilizer in the garden section at Target. Upcycle and Company was born out of a need for a natural, chemical-free, and inexpensive fertilizer. Their Native Soil Fertilizer is made from organic waste that grows nutrient-dense fruit and vegetables. “I’d like to express our deepest gratitude to the Valley Ventures team, Fresno State and the California Energy Commission for setting up and funding this program, and for the incredible outpouring of support from the Fresno State community,” said Criscuolo.

Introducing Nanomass! This renewable energy company has utilized a multitude of WET Center programs since they first partnered with us in 2018, including Valley Ventures and TIE. Marcus Che of Nanomass noted that being housed in the Central Valley helped Nanomass gain traction in both Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Che also said that our monthly newsletter helped pass along relevant information to his company. Nanomass was created when the founders were inspired to repurpose dead tree wood from forest fires to replace coal in power plants.
Since partnering with us, they have filed a US patent, finalized steps to open their first processing plant in Roswell, New Mexico. Nanomass has also created a plan of action to combat food waste in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
