Experiencing global responsibility
GBS Student Leaders experienced the school’s ethos of global responsibility firsthand during a unique community engagement project in Nepal. The trip, which saw the students immersing themselves in Nepalese culture before working with locals, helped participants gain a deeper knowledge of their role in a global environment.

For Rachel Perkins, this was her second cultural exchange with the Leaders and she was thrilled to be attending this year as a mentor. “I knew that I wanted to go on another trip as soon as I had gotten home from the first volunteer trip,” she says.

Tori lands prized internship
The advice leapt from online to real life for
Tori Macklin, a Griffith Student who scored an internship through eCareerCoach.

The program created by GBS sees Coaches matched with current students to provide career advice and respond to queries about their job paths through a digital portal.

The resulting relationship could be just a few questions long, or the Coach could choose to take on a more comprehensive role. Which is exactly what happened when Tori matched with Carly Green, the Human Resources Manager at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort.
