This webcast will explore the personal and social challenges of recovery within various age groups. There can be challenges in transitioning to a life in recovery in aspects such as socializing, school settings, housing and employment. The webcast will look at the personal and social challenges and how individuals rebuild personal confidence and trust among family and friends. The discussion will highlight the benefits and challenges of living one day at a time, remaining hopeful and experiencing the joy of recovery. It is important for members of the entertainment media to use accurate and hopeful stories to motivate others to seek needed services and help to dismiss the negative and prejudicial beliefs surrounding treatment and recovery.

Ivette A. Torres | M.Ed., M.S. | Associate Director for Consumer Affairs, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Ms. Torres is an expert in communications and organizational development and oversees the CSAT team responsible for generating and disseminating mental and substance use disorder treatment and recovery best practices to SAMHSA's mission-related constituents. She develops national public health education strategies and campaigns including the observance of the National Recovery Month, celebrated each September.

 Kristen Harper | M.Ed.| Executive Director of Recovery Communities of North Carolina | Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services National Advisory Council, through the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)
Kristen provided technical assistance to over 80 universities seeking to create and manage collegiate recovery programs in all regions of the country. Kristen also founded the Center for Addiction Recovery at Georgia Southern University in 2008 within the College of Public Health. Kristen has been to Ghana, West Africa to provide technical assistance to the emerging recovery community. As a person living in long-term recovery for over 15 years, Kristen has dedicated her life to helping others access recovery support services, locally, nationally and internationally.
 Janet Borelli | Senior Vice President | Viacom Media Networks (VMN) | BET Standards & Practices
Janet Borelli, serves as Senior Vice President, Multiplatform Standards & Practices for Viacom Media Networks and BET. She advises and educates senior management regarding cultural changes and content sensitive and partners with key departments within VMN and BET to implement standards policy. Janet supports the creative departments across VMN to ensure that content is compliant with federal, industry and brand standards, and is acceptable to the audience/users and advertisers.
 Tara Handron | Regional Vice President, Caron Treatment Centers, Greater Washington, DC
Tara provides assistance for families and individuals who are experiencing substance abuse related issues, parent groups, alumni groups, workshops, and more. Tara performs a one-woman show, Drunk with Hope, about alcoholism and recovery that she created out of her master's thesis. She has performed her show in diverse venues and cities across the country. Tara is a person in long- term recovery from alcoholism (16 years).
 Patrick Krill | Script Consultant to ABC Family (Freeform) TV series Recovery Road | Consultant to Hazelden Betty Ford Center
Patrick Krill is recognized as one of the leading authorities on the substance use and mental health problems of lawyers. Patrick is an attorney, licensed and board certified alcohol and drug counselor, author, advocate, and thought leader. His groundbreaking work in the field of attorney behavioral health includes initiating and serving as lead author of the first and only national study on the prevalence of attorney addiction and mental health concerns, a joint undertaking of the American Bar Association Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Patrick is the founder of Krill Strategies, a behavioral health consulting firm exclusively for the legal profession.
