JUST ANNOUNCED: The Greater Washington Good Business Awards!

It just got Good. The Northern Virginia Chamber announces the Greater Washington Good Business Awards! Formerly the Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards, the Good Business Awards is a celebration in honoring leadership of individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve as powerful champions for good in our community. 2019 Virginia General Assembly Recap
The Virginia General Assembly adjourned a tumultuous 2019 session sine die Sunday, February 23rd, concluding a 47-day session that addressed major issues ahead of the upcoming election cycle where all 140 members will face the voters. Extending the session by one additional day to put the finishing touches on amendments to the two-year budget, the final week of session addressed a number of items of importance to the Northern Virginia Business community. Northern Virginia Chamber to co-host 2019 Shape of the Region Conference on 3/7
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, in partnership with the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Virginia Regional Commission and the Northern Virginia Technology Council, announces the 2019 Shape of the Region Conference, The Business Case for Economic Mobility on Thursday, March 7 from 8:00-11:45AM. Our local economy continues to thrive. But our region, like the entire country, is experiencing a growing gulf between the have and the have nots, rising income inequality, and a lack of economic mobility that has developed in the past 50 years. It is a defining problem of our age, and everyone has a role to play in helping to solve it. Inspired by the US Partnership on Mobility from Poverty, the 2019 Shape of the Region Conference will discuss strategies that each sector of society can deploy to achieve a more expanded, more inclusive economy that benefits us all. Applications Now Open: Leadership Programs for Community Impact and Innovative Thinking - Leadership Fairfax Institute, Emerging Leaders Institute

Leadership Fairfax is now accepting applications for their premier professional leadership development programs – Leadership Fairfax Institute and Emerging Leaders Institute. Applications are due Friday, April 19, 2019. The 10-month programs begin September 2019. Classes meet once a month and participants work outside of class with a cohort to plan and implement projects. The programs build participant knowledge of community topics, legislative processes, leadership assessments, and strategic interactions. Applicants can apply here. Limited scholarships available for students with a demonstrable financial need.

Network Alliance Honored in Multiple Categories at 13th Annual Stevie Awards

Network Alliance was honored on February 24 in multiple categories at the 13th Annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. These latest recognitions mark the seventh year in a row they’ve received Stevie Awards. At the awards ceremony in Las Vegas, the Network Alliance Support Center team was recognized in the following categories: Gold Award for Customer Service Department of the Year - Computer Services, Silver Award for Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year - Technology Industries, and Bronze Award to Corey Orr, Front-Line Customer Service Professional of the Year - Technology Industries.
